The following update may be of interest to the media As predicted yesterday record numbers of people were expected to attend to Good Friday evening service at St Demetrios. Over 5.000 (five thousand people) were in attendance In Town Road / Logan Road Edmonton London N9 where the worshippers participated in ther procession of the epitaphios Among the many local dignitaries who were present were Andy Love MP for Edmonton, the Mayor of Enfield Jayne Buckland, the committee chair of the of St Demetrios Committee Mr Kypros Nicola local councillors and may other community representatives. The parade went without any incidents whatsoever and Father Kypros Constantinides thanked everyone for their help which included the Committee members the Ladies from the Auxiliary committee the police and the local authority for their help and guidance. Tonight Saturday the Service will commence at 10.30 p.m. and another very good attendance is expected as this is the Highlight of Easter. Many worshippers will take to their seats as early as 8.00 p.m. to ensure they have a grandstand seat of the happiest event of the year.
